Interactions

Drug :- Antiemetics (5-HT antagonists), antipsychotics, metazolone, methylene blue, 3 metoclopramide, opioid analgesics, tramadol: May increase serotonergic effects and serotonin syndrome. Monitor therapy.

CYP3A4 inhibitors (such as ketoconazole): May increase almotriptan level. Monitor patient forpotential adverse reaction.

May need to reduce dosage. Avoid concomitant use in patients with renal or hepatic impairment.

Ergot-containing drugs, serotonin 5-HT agonists: May cause additive effects.

Avoid using 1B/1D within 24 hours of almotriptan.

MAO inhibitors, verapamil: May increase almotriptan level. No dose adjustment is necessary.

SSNRIs, SSRIs: May cause additive serotonin effects, resulting in weakness, hyperreflexia, or incoordination. Monitor patient closely if given together.
